The butterfly has finally emerged

OK, so it’s not so secret anymore!  I’m proud to announce that the butterfly (my EVOLVR project) has finally emerged as a serious business in its own right.

Why EVOLVR?  Simple really..  After almost 2 decades of managing and directing digital product designs, strategy and builds I’m still fascinated by the interfacing of people and machines.

The industry has evolved excitingly and rapidly.  But, from my perspective the maturity of essential digital processes hasn’t trickled down to all organisations, and conversely ‘hacking and agility’ eludes the big corporates.

On one end we have startups, disrupting with new niche and semi-permanent digital products.  They’re growth hackers out of the box, attracting attention with minimal expense, using data insights to tweak their reach and relations.  Prepared to fail fast they oftentimes lack the scalability frameworks and discipline to solidify growth and don’t see the platforms forming.

On the other end we have blue-chip clients with deep pockets, mature products and processes, but slow and steady product iterations.   They can be so caught up in big data that they miss their small data.  Deep and multidimensional insights create a form of analysis paralysis.  Even if they can see the ‘tweaks’ the overheads of managing change dilute the excitement and realism of their digital products.

And right across the board there are still obvious gaps in customer experiences that are easily solved, improved or eradicated.

Whether it’s a lack of integration between off and online touchpoints, an underperforming conversion point, or the tragedy of someone building a ‘usable wrong thing’, small changes make huge differences, and seemingly small insights can multiply bottom line returns.

If I can pull it off I really hope that EVOLVR can do a few simple things to help out:

  1. Bring growth hacking, agility, and dreaming to the big corporates.
  2. Bring discipline, scalability, and sustainability to the start-ups.
  3. And meet somewhere in between for the rest.
